Class Rules and Etiquette

  • Practice should be pursued earnestly, without excessive talking or disturbing others. Be respectful and courteous to the instructors, students of all ranks and levels of ability, and any guests.
  • Tuition is due at the beginning of each month. Tuition will be collected by the senior instructor in class.
  • Unless you are designated and recognized as an official instructor in our school, teaching our style to other classmates, or to people outside our school, is not allowed.
  • All injuries and medical or other conditions that may affect your training should be reported to the instructors before class begins. Any injuries that occur in class must be immediately reported to an instructor.
  • Classes start promptly at the displayed time. Please make every attempt to arrive early enough to be ready to go at start time, to avoid class disruption. As the saying goes, “Early is on time, on time is late.”
  • Class attire is pants (knee-length or longer) and shirt. You can purchase a class shirt from the instructors in class, but this is not required for day-to-day classes. Indoor shoes are allowed, provided they have no hard or sharp surfaces which might injure you or your training partners.
  • Clothes should allow for ease of movement without being loose enough to tangle and injure you or your training partners.
  • Please remove any jewelry or other decorative items which when hit, grabbed, or pulled on, could cause injury to yourself or training partners. This includes rings, bracelets, dangling earrings, and so on.
  • No foul or inappropriate language is permitted in the school or in public when representing our school.
  • Arguing is not allowed in class. If a conflict arises, see Master Lee or an assistant instructor immediately.

To sum up:

  • Practice diligently and with good intention.
  • Pay your dues on time.
  • Don’t disrupt the class.

Our Statement on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

Master Lee’s belief is that martial arts are meant to be shared with everyone. Our doors are open to anyone who wants to learn our system, and is willing to put in the time and effort to learn. We are committed to diversity, equity, respect, and fairness for everyone in our school and our community.

We do not discriminate against any students on the basis of race, religion, gender or gender identity, sexual orientation, or country of birth, nor do we allow such discrimination in our school. Tolerance is a social contract, and there is no place in our school for bigots or bullies.
